Jay Sensei Started training in the Fighting Arts at the age of 7 with Judo. By the time he’d started his Aikido training he’d already tried Boxing, Karate, Jeet Kune Do, & Wing Chun Kung Fu. He also has had a Welsh Guard as a Stepfather training him for a few years.
When Jay Sensei started training in Aikido he was hooked. Jay Sensei was on the look out for a so called hard style of Aikido. It was then he saw Malcolm Crawford Sensei of the Yoshinkan.
This Aikido..."Yoshinkan" was just what he was looking for, Powerful, Dynamic, and to most people the hard style. Yoshinkan Aikido was not taught in the Midlands as there were no instructors that studied Yoshinkan, he asked Crawford Sensei if he would take him on as a student, after what seemed to be forever Crawford Sensei agreed.
Jay Sensei started training with the Yoshinkan there and then and is part of the Goryukai Yoshinkan Aikido
